State Aerobics

Miss Molina took the aerobics teams to the State competition on Sunday 4th in Geelong. The girls did really well in the wildcard round in the morning with a 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th with one team getting the highest score MGSC had received so far. In the afternoon, one of the Year 7 teams competed and placed 5th in their section. Unfortunately we didn't have a team qualify for Nationals this year but the girls have done an exceptional job in their training and development nonetheless! The girls are on to training for the Spring Challenge. Go Mentone!.

Aerobics Preliminary Finals

On Sunday 14th May (Mother's Day), 61 students from Years 7-12 competed in the preliminary finals in Geelong. After a very early start, we had successful day with all teams performing exceptionally well and one team straight through to the state finals. The girls are now busy training for the states on Sunday June 4th. A huge thank you to the parents that got up so early on a Sunday to support their daughters.

Aerobics Open Evening

On Thursday 4th May, the 8 MGSC Aerobics teams performed for their families and friends to showcase their efforts so far. They all performed brilliantly and feel more confident for the first competition on May 14th in Geelong. A huge thank you to Jennifer Connelly (staff) and student coaches Natalia D and Grace S for the time and effort that have put in.

Aerobics, Cheer and Pom 2017
Aerobics tryouts for Year 7 will be held on Tuesday 7th February. The other year levels have already commenced training for the 2017 season.
Cheer and Pom are back at MGSC in 2017!! Miss Courtney Anderson is returning to coach our Pom and Cheer teams two mornings a week. The tryouts for Pom are on Friday the 3rd February and the Cheer tryouts on Monday 6th February. All tryouts are to be held in the gym at lunchtime. All the aerobics and cheer students will be working hard in preparation for the 2017 season. We wish them all the best of luck! Miss Molina |
Aerobics - Spring Challenge

On October 16th, a Year 7 and a Year 8 aerobics team competed at the Spring Challenge aerobics competition in Geelong. It was the final competition for the season and the students had been working extremely hard to perfect their routines. Congratulations to 'Shine' that placed 4th in a tight field against Mentone Girls Grammar and to 'Crystals' that placed 2nd out of 15 teams. A huge congratulations to all the girls on an excellent 2016 season.

Aerobics State Finals
5/6/16
On Sunday 5th June, over 40 students competed at aerobics competitions in Geelong. 3 teams went through to State finals where they achieved personal best performances in a very tight field. The girls should be congratulated on their hard work this year. A big thank you to student coaches Rikki Andison, Ella Grapel and Holly Stosic; and to Mr David Russell and all the family and friends that came to support the students.

Schoolaerobics State Finals

The Schoolaerobics State finals will be held on Sunday June 5th. The girls have been working incredibly hard in preparation for this competition.
The competition is held at The Arena 110 Victoria St, North Geelong, 3215. Tickets can be purchased at the venue, however please note no eftpos facilities are available. MGSC Diamonds and MGSC Sparklers will be competing at approximately 10.00am in the wildcard round for a place in the finals. MGSC Shine will compete approximately 2:30pm, MGSC Crystals at 4:45pm and MGSC Embers at 6:00pm. Presentations will be held at approximately 8:00pm. Good luck to all students competing next weekend. Schoolaerobics Preliminary Finals

On Sunday 1st May, the five MGSC aerobics teams competed at the Schoolaerobics Preliminary finals in Geelong. Three of the teams are through to the state finals and the other two teams will compete in the wildcard round to win a berth in the state finals. The girls will be working hard over the next four weeks in preparation for this competition. MGSC Aerobics

On Thursday 21st April, the five aerobics teams had a dress rehearsal in front of their family and friends in preparation for the upcoming Schoolaerobics competition in Geelong. The performances from all students showed improvement in their technical ability and their confidence. Thank you to Miss Anna Berlingeri, Mrs Carol Duggan and student coaches Rikki Andison, Holly Stosic and Ella Grapel for their assistance and support. Aerobics - Update on upcoming events
The MGSC Aerobics teams have been busy training for the preliminaries which are to be held in Geelong on May 1st. The dress rehearsal for the event will be held on Thursday 21st April in the Lecture Theatre from 6-7pm. During the dress rehearsals, the Presentations will also be held and further information regarding the competition times will be distributed. All parents and staff are welcome to attend. MGSC Aerobics
Mentone Girls' Secondary College will be hosting the Open Night on Thursday 28th April where you will see our aerobics teams training for their upcoming competitions. The girls and Ms Tess Molina have been busy practicing twice a week before school and at lunchtimes. The aerobics teams will be competing on Sunday 1st May and Sunday 5th June, both in Geelong. If the girls place in the second competition they will be off to Queensland to compete at nationals! Congratulations to the five teams and Ms Molina for all their hard work so far. Go Mentone!

Cheerleading

On Sunday 28th June, the MGSC Cheerleading team competed in their first competition for the year. The girls did a great job, hitting a close to perfect routine. They placed 2nd in a tough scholastic level 2 section.

State Aerobics
7/6/15
On Sunday 7th June, five Aerobics teams represented MGSC at the State Aerobics finals in Geelong. Teams ‘Accelerate’ and ‘Angels’ both placed 1st in the wildcard section in the morning and went on to compete in the finals in the afternoon. Congratulations to team ‘Accelerate’ (coached by Ms Anderson) who placed 2nd overall in the afternoon finals and secured a berth to the National Championships in August on the Gold Coast. All teams achieved a personal best performance on the weekend. Thank you also to Ms Molina, Ms Ingold and Rikki Andison for helping coach as well. Go Mentone!
