MGSC student Gracie G (Year 10) has been selected to be part of the Under 18 State Hockey Victoria girls squad of 18 girls. 16 of them will be travelling to Hobart in April for the Australian National Championships. The 2.5hour training sessions are on Monday and Wednesday nights and will continue until 12th April. MGSC wishes Gracie the best of luck with all her training and upcoming tournament.
On Saturday 18th of February, Sapphire (Year 7) competed at the Little Athletics Victorian Southern Metro Regional competion. Sapphire came first in the region for High Jump with a height of 1.42 meters which takes her to the State Championships. She has also made the State Championships for the Chelsea Life Saving Club held in Warrnambool for the 3rd year in a row. Congratulations to Sapphire and good luck with your upcoming competitions
The Senior (Year 11 and 12) students competed in the Beachside Round Robin on Thursday 16th February. The girls competed in the volleyball and frisbee teams competed against the other schools in our district such as MacRob, Cheltenham, Glen Eira and Albert Park. Well done to the girls for their efforts in representing MGSC on the day. Go Mentone!
MGSC Year 10 student, Zoe C has won the inaugural Bernie Curtin award for winning the U15 Girls Little Aths Multi-Event Championships in Bendigo. Zoe also competed and won the U16 heptathlon at the State Multi-Events in Doncaster. Zoe has been selected to represent Victoria in the Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC's) in April. Congratulations Zoe and good luck in April.
Mentone Girls' SC studens Millie B (Year 9) and Teiki W (Year 10) are representing Victoria at the Queensland and New South Wales championships this year. They are a part of a 7 member team from Mentone Life Saving Club who are representing Victoria. The girls will also be defending Mentone LSCs title at the Junior State Championships in March.
